Our Screens at Work
Demonstration of live compositing at Cinegear, 2001. Note the images shown on the HD monitors in the foreground that show the result of using twin Panavision cameras and an HD Ultimatte® to combine the red-hatted juggler on the left against the Digital Green® screen with the black-hatted juggler and the scenic backdrop on the right. (Also note the evenly lit Digital Green® screen - this is the ideal stage set-up.)
This is a larger screen than our usual - a 60' x 185' single screen hung off the parking lot at Universal Studios, Los Angeles, on the set of Looney Toons, Back in Action in 2003. This screen is made up of 20 vertical panels, so the photo shows how uniformly the camera "sees" a large, multi-seamed screen.
